Use SUMA with ChatGPT and Claude
Bring SUMA’s property experience intelligence into your assistant. Connect with your own SUMA login to work within your current account access. SUMA team logins can reach their permitted customer accounts.
Before you connect
SUMA team accounts can connect with their current customer-account access. Customer logins stay within their own active organization. Sign in with your own SUMA login. Use your own SUMA login. When administrator connector access is enabled, SUMA team accounts can reach their currently accessible customer accounts. Staff using “view as” cannot connect. Your current role and place assignments determine which actions are available.
Custom connector availability depends on your ChatGPT or Claude plan and workspace settings. Your workspace administrator may need to enable it.

What you can do
- Find and read the places your account can access.
- Start a place’s setup, get SUMA’s intake questions, and save validated answers.
- Open a place through SUMA’s existing draft and opening flow once its requirements are met. Charter adoption still follows the platform’s process.
- Add text or structured observations as your own notes.
- Import original spreadsheets, documents and images with SUMA’s native interpretation and confirmation.
- Search accessible evidence and existing insights, with source links and dates where available.
Setting up a new place is a series of intake questions that give SUMA context. Your assistant will explain the required and optional questions and show progress. Follow SUMA’s questions in order, choose whether to add optional detail, and pause or resume whenever you need. If you prefer, ask for a shorter route through the required basics. The questions can change with your answers. Review your answers before opening a draft place and Charter for review in SUMA.
Try: “Find my place in SUMA, save a note that the west entrance sticks after heavy rain, then show me the saved source.”
External data-source syncing, automatic AI picture generation, publishing Charter changes, and scheduling new automated processes are not supported by this connector.
Import a file
- Ask SUMA to import your file and choose the place and data type. You can add context about what the file contains.
- In ChatGPT, attach the original file. If the attachment cannot be transferred, use SUMA’s file picker. In Claude, select the original file in SUMA’s picker or the signed-in SUMA page provided.
- Review SUMA’s interpretation, question and proposed destination. For workbooks, choose each sheet’s group, cohort, existing data type or skip option as needed.
- Confirm your choices before saving. A preview adds no records. Ask for the same import’s status if a response is interrupted.
CSV, XLSX, DOCX, PDF and images are accepted up to 25 MiB, subject to safe parsing limits. Use the original file; do not ask the assistant to reconstruct it. Single tables offer an evidence-role choice; workbooks retain each sheet’s native interpretation.
SUMA imports the contents; it does not keep the original as a downloadable attachment. Cancel stops confirmation without deleting a draft or undoing saved records. If an import is partial or its result is uncertain, check that same import before trying again. Saved records follow SUMA’s normal processing.
Your permissions and information
SUMA checks your current account, organization, place access, and record visibility on each operation. Approving write access lets the assistant request changes that your SUMA role already allows; it does not grant additional platform permissions.
Notes and imported records follow SUMA’s existing access and sharing permissions. They are not automatically private to this chat.
Your assistant receives the authorized results returned by the tools it calls. Those results can include source text and existing insights. Review the assistant’s own data settings before connecting.
Disconnect or get help
Manage connected assistants in SUMA to revoke a connection. This stops future connector access. It does not delete saved SUMA records or copies already present in an assistant’s conversation. You can also remove SUMA from your assistant’s connector settings.
